Time magazine recently featured an article titled “The Pursuit of Happiness,.” We may be mining that vein for a while here at PIL. It offered some interesting thoughts from famous people, including this from the late Steve Jobs:
“The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle.”
Jobs served that up to Standford’s class of 2002, who were arguably in a better-than-average position to follow his advice. As are we educators. The world is full of people whose employment options are tragically much more limited than our own. On a less-than-perfect day, it’s good to remember that I really do love what I do.
