Each Tuesday, pleasureinlearning brings you Tech Tuesday. Come back each week for more ways to become efficient and effective in your use of technology.
This is the third part of a series on Windows 8.1. You’ve got to make the transition sometime! Learning Windows 8.1 might as well be pleasurable.
Now that you’ve decided to find pleasure in learning Windows 8.1, let’s get down to business. If you’re going to use this operating system, you’re going to need to find your applications!
If you don’t see an application right on the desktop or toolbar, then you should search for it.
Mouse Searching Method:
- Move mouse to one of the right-hand corners. The Charms Bar appears. (Yes, it really is called the Charms Bar.)
- Click on the magnifying class to search.
- Type the name of the application
Keyboard Searching Method:
- Press Windows key
- Type the name of the application (e.g. Excel)
Once you find the application, click on it to open. Stay tuned for more next week on how to make those programs easier to find next time.
